Slowly

Slowly, slowly,
my mind it moves,
wandering over the pages.
whispering, whistling through the sweet air
wondering weary with sorrow
Slowly, slowy,
my eyes, are closing
longing for silence and darkness
waiting and wishing for refuge of sleep
dragging me into tomorrow
Slowly, slowly,
my thoughts I am thinking
weighted, lethargic and lonely.
Hopelessly longing for lighthearted grace
to rescue me from melancholy
Slowly, slowly,
my heart, it is beating,
waning to match my foul temper.
weeping and wheezing irregular beats
the reverb unlaces my volley’ s.
Slowly, slowly,
my smile, it is showing
waking from winter’s stupor.
growing and spreading with merciless splendour
and filling the world with colour
Slowly, slowly,
the world, I am changing,
washing and wiping it clean.
Painting the piece with perfect precision
redeeming it from it’s cruel pallor.
